What will be one of the key colors in design this year?
The answer is surprisingly simple: white.
Confirming this is one of the most authoritative voices in the world of color, Pantone.
For the first time ever, Pantone has chosen a shade of white – Cloud Dancer, which, as its name suggests, evokes the lightness and delicacy of clouds – as the Color of the Year 2026, officially marking the rise of white as a global design trend.
Design trends 2026: essential, bright, clean and welcoming spaces
The choice of white is no coincidence. In recent years, design has gradually moved away from visual excess, embracing more essential and reassuring environments.
A clear signal that, in a visually overloaded world, there is a growing need for space, lightness and calm, even in everyday design projects.
Beyond color psychology and its ability to convey tranquility and order, white also offers strong visual functionality: it enhances spatial perception, reflects light and creates environments that are immediately perceived as clean and bright – qualities particularly valued in bathrooms, workspaces and public areas.
Wide range of applications
Another key strength of white is its design versatility: it is one of the most flexible colors in design, as it can be easily combined with different materials and tones.
White does not compete with other colors, it complements them.
This is why it is often chosen for functional products: the color does not distract, but instead lets the quality of the design speak for itself.
White bathroom accessories by Mar Plast: one color, multiple solutions
White plays a central role in the Mar Plast design universe: it is featured across all eight collections, including the Inox collection.
However, this is not a single, standardized white. On the contrary, Mar Plast interprets white in different shades and finishes, designed to meet a wide range of tastes and project requirements.
Skin line: a “glossy” white
The white of the Skin line – which includes soap dispensers, paper dispensers, waste bins and accessories – features a glossy finish, making it visually bright with a clean, neutral appearance.
It is a “clear” white in the most direct sense of the word, designed to immediately communicate hygiene, order and reliability.
EColored line: a “soft” white
The white of the EColored line is called Adamello White and is characterized by a satin finish, free from strong reflections.
Compared to glossy white, it appears less bright but warmer, softer and more discreet.
From a visual perception standpoint, this white feels more welcoming, less “technical” and more oriented toward design and aesthetic balance.
Woodplastic line: a “textured” white
A third option in the range is Light Wood, part of the Woodplastic line, made from a hybrid material combining plastic pellets and wood processing residues.
Light Wood stands out for its textured finish with visible micro-grain, evoking natural surfaces such as light stone or whitewashed wood.
The texture diffuses light rather than reflecting it directly, softening contrasts and reducing the cold effect typical of more technical whites.
This makes it particularly suitable for environments where design contributes to the overall experience of the space.
