For over 30 years, Mar Plast has been working to create products that combine functionality, design and quality. Building on the initiatives already undertaken last year, this journey is now evolving further with the publication of the new 2025 ESG Report, a tool designed to transparently communicate the commitments and concrete actions taken towards a more responsible economy, adopting the GRI Standards 2021 according to the “in accordance” option.
For Mar Plast, reporting means first and foremost taking responsibility for communicating how the company operates and the areas in which it intends to improve. It is an exercise in transparency towards everyone who, in different ways, contributes to the life of the company: customers, employees, suppliers, partners, institutions, the local community and all the stakeholders with whom we build long-term relationships.
The three pillars of the 2025 ESG Report
The new ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) Report is aligned with European sustainability principles and the objectives of the 2030 Agenda, outlining the company’s commitment across three key areas.
Environment: reducing impact and promoting circular innovation
Mar Plast’s environmental commitment is part of its everyday operations. The company continuously invests in solutions aimed at reducing the impact of its production processes through energy savings, the efficient use of resources and waste reduction. The use of recycled plastics and water-based paints reflects a strong commitment to the circular economy, clearly demonstrated by the success of sustainable collections such as the EColored line.
Social: people, inclusion and safety
Business growth must go hand in hand with people development and the promotion of a culture based on respect. The 2025 ESG Report highlights projects focused on inclusivity, such as the Artemis line, and promotes equal opportunity policies within the company. Mar Plast also ensures safe working environments and actively supports initiatives that deliver tangible benefits to the community.
Governance: ethics, integrity and transparency
A responsible company is built on clear rules and transparent processes. Mar Plast has adopted a Code of Ethics and a Corporate Policy that clearly define the principles guiding its daily operations: honesty, fairness and strict compliance with regulations. This organisational model translates into strong and reliable relationships with partners and stakeholders, always oriented towards the common good.
Beyond ESG: ISO 14001:2015 certification and EcoVadis Silver
2025 also marked another major milestone in Mar Plast’s sustainability journey: achieving UNI EN ISO 14001:2015 certification for its environmental management system, confirming the company’s commitment to generating a positive impact not only on the market, but also on the environment and society.
ISO 14001:2015 certification
ISO 14001:2015 certification is an internationally recognised standard and represents both formal recognition and a tangible guarantee for customers and partners. Achieving this certification means that every stage of production, from initial design through to the finished product, is carried out with full respect for the environment and the future.
EcoVadis Silver
The assessment, published on 14 September and valid for one year, analyses and certifies Mar Plast’s performance across four key areas: environment, labour and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement.
For Mar Plast, sustainability is not a final destination, but a continuously evolving journey. The 2025 ESG Report, ISO 14001 certification and the new EcoVadis Silver rating represent tangible milestones in a vision that combines the excellence of Italian design with a deep commitment to environmental and social responsibility.
