There’s an expression that has now transferred from music to common usage, indicating passion, love, being in love: “I’ve got you under my skin” is a song by Cole Porter from 1936, consecrated to international success in the interpretation given by Frank Sinatra about twenty years later. “Having you under my skin” (or like a “second skin”) is the refrain dedicated to a sort of absolute value.
